My name is Brizsa.
I am a music photographer and fanatic based in Edmonton, AB.
Most of my childhood memories involve music; whether it be sitting on my top bunk blasting Nelly Furtado’s I’m Like A Bird out of my little boombox, or curled up in the back seat of our van, listening to my sister’s All Killer Non Filler by Sum 41 out of my purple Sony discman, or sitting alone, late at night, listening to the simple songs coming from our early 90s Christmas Tree lights.
I have always had an affinity to female-fronted music – if their voice is strong, raw, fun, catchy, WHATEVER – to this day, I am still obsessively absorbing it. Listening to songs or albums on repeat until I can’t stand them, only to turn to them again a few months later to start all over again. All that to say, my I tend to stick to my little bubble of music.
I love talking to creatives about the things that excite them – whether that be ideas, sounds, visuals, or textures. I love learning about a their steps to success, how they manage what feels like their failures, and how they stay weird.
In search of an outlet of pure passion and interest in expanding my musical horizons – learning more about artists I already love as well as finding and sharing new ones – I welcome you to my little Dollhouse.
Sometimes I interview artists, sometimes I photograph shows, sometimes I blab about my favourite music, sometimes I talk about the cameras I’m using, the lenses I take with me everywhere, the Sourdough recipe I tried this weekend, and honestly just anything that makes me happy.
I hope you’re ready for a lot of rambling.
