Maggie Rogers has announced a new album titled “Don’t Forget Me” by sharing the title track and a music video on February 8th. This will be her third studio album, and we’ll get it Friday, April 12, 2024.
The music video is a collection of ‘home video’ clips, and she is officially the only dose of cottage core I care about in the music industry. Give me a bit of country?? Not usually, but with Maggie, my arms are wide open. You can watch it here:
She also shared some insight into how this album came to be on Instagram:
Reading this gets me more excited than the new song itself. I love when artists share their little ‘fun facts’ about putting an album together – like that this album was written chronologically over five days, and most of what we’ll hear are first takes?
Maggie is such a special artist and she is keeping to her roots with more dialed-back recordings, “like performances, instead of manufactured or gridded perfection,” she says. Even with all the extra access that comes from being a bigger name in the industry now, she still feels like a folk artist with her lil yodel and cute song builds.
Track list:
- It Was Coming All Along
- Drunk
- So Sick of Dreaming
- This Kill
- If Now Was Then
- I Still Do
- On + On + On
- Never Going Home
- All The Same
- Don’t Forget Me
Maggie’s last album, Surrender, released in July of 2022, is an album I still turn to almost weekly. It feels BIG like it was absolutely made for the performance she put on at Red Rocks in August of 2023.
Songs from Surrender, like Overdrive, Honey, and I’ve Got a Friend will stay with me forever. I hope this new album opens me up in a new way.
i love you.
